Training     Visionary Research

Chetan Kaher graduated from Guy's King's and St Thomas's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He also obtained a 1st Class BSc honours degree in Oncology and Immunology from the School of Biomedical Sciences.

He was fortunate enough to gain entrance to the London Deanery 2-year General Professional Training program in dentistry, with emphasis on dealing with nervous patients, complex restorative cases and oral surgery. During this time he also completed a diploma for membership into the Royal College of Surgeons (England).

He has worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Bart's and Royal London Hospitals gaining experience in reconstructive, cosmetic and cancer surgery.

Chetan has won numerous prizes, awards and scholarships for his visionary academic research, in fields as diverse as protein therapy for cancer, vCJD, laser use, inhalation sedation and radiography in pregnancy. He has published articles and has lectured nationally and internationally. Recently he has won the national post-graduate research prize in Dentistry for research into pregnancy and radiation.  

He has a strong commitment to post graduate education and has attended numerous courses specialising in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, facial aesthetics (Botox® and restylane), acupuncture and implantology. He has been fortunate to have worked with and learnt from some of the best clinicians in the world. He has also featured on the television programs Extreme Makeover and Trauma.

Outside of dentistry, Chetan has a strong interest in the self reliance charity Chitrakoot.

Dr Sarita Kotecha

Training

After graduating from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’s School for medicine and dentistry, Sarita completed a year of vocational training and then went to work and teach in Sydney Dental Hospital, Australia. Here she was fortunate enough to work with an international team of consultants from whom she was able to learn the latest techniques. Since her return to the UK she has been working in general practice developing her patient care skills and providing a personalised service.

She is an enthusiastic and dedicated young professional with a passionate desire to offer her patients the best all round care. To this end, she has attended many world renowned courses and is beginning an MSc in Restorative Dental Practice at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute to ensure that she is up to date with current and future procedures and technologies.

Sarita is a lively and energetic member of the team with many skills and interests outside of dentistry. Her charm and charisma combined with her professional approach makes her ideal for putting nervous patients at ease.

Dr Paroo Mistry Specialist Orthodontist

Paroo is a specialist orthodontist and is registered on the General Dental Council (GDC) specialist list. Paroo qualified as a dentist from Bristol University in 2002 gaining credits in all her final examinations. After a year in dental practice in Derbyshire she jetted off to Sydney Australia to work in the restorative department at the prestigious Sydney Dental Hospital. On her return to England, Paroo worked at The Royal London and Whipps Cross Hospitals where she did complex surgical dentistry and the management of facial trauma as well as study for her post graduate exams for membership into the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She then spent a year working in Community dentistry, working with children and patients with special needs.

Paroo then embarked on her three year, full time specialist training in orthodontics in Peterborough, Kettering and the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, gaining a Masters in Science degree at the University of London in 2008. She qualified as an orthodontic specialist in 2009, gaining the Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She is currently working in 2 central London teaching hospitals where she is completing her orthodontic consultant training.

Paroo has carried out research on the effect of thumb sucking on the teeth, and her work has been covered a number of times in the media. She has presented her research findings nationally at the British Orthodontic Conference and at regional lecture groups, as well as internationally in the largest university in Mexico, where she lectured in Spanish. Her research is due to be published in a national orthodontic journal. She has also written teaching articles about thumb sucking for dental nurses, and co-written an advice sheet for parents which will soon be distributed nationally.

Paroo is also a member of the Editorial Board for The Probe, a dental newspaper distributed to all dentists in the United Kingdom. She is a regular writer on the paper despite her busy clinical work schedule. She is also an active member of the British Orthodontic Society

Dr Guy McLellan Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant

Mr Guy McLellan is our complex dental implant surgeon. He is doubly qualified in dentistry and medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has over 10 years hospital experience including training in ENT and plastic surgery and currently holds a teaching position at Charing Cross Hospital where he runs the dental implant clinic.

His experience in implants dates back to 1994 and includes extra-oral implants to retain facial cosmesis/reconstruction following facial cancer surgery as well as intra-oral cancer rehabilitation and facial deformities such as cleft lip and palate.

He continues to work as a member of the Cranio Facial team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In private practice he limits his practice to surgical implantology and augmentation procedures including complex intra-oral and extra-oral grafting.

He is a mentor for Nobel Biocare and is actively involved in Implant education. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, the European Association of Osseointegration and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

George graduated in 2000 from the Masaryk Medical School in Czech Republic. After that he spent 2 years in the Greek Navy carrying out his military service and gaining extensive clinical experience. This was followed by experience in a specialist periodontal and implants practice. It was at this time that George achieved his first scientific publication in the field of periodontal plastic surgery.

In 2004 George moved to the UK where he worked in Dorset before embarking on a 3 year full time Masters in Clinical Periodontology at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital, London (M.Clin.Dent).

Since 2007 he has been a practicing periodontist in Poole, Dorset and Eastleigh. He is also the Periodontal clinical instructor in Bedford Special Access Centre at the NHS Bedford Hospital.

He is now an honorary research associate at the Eastman Dental Institute where he is involved in periodontal research.

George has now embarked on a PHD in the periodontal department at the Eastman Dental Institute.

Outside of dentistry George is interested in art, theatre, football and horse riding.

Dr Theodora Bravis Specialist Prosthodontist
BDS, MFDS RCS, MClin Dent, MRD RCS


Dr Theodora Bravis qualified from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital with Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She then worked in hospital and private practice, being exposed to all aspects of general and specialist dentistry. After becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2005, she returned to Guy’s hospital to pursue specialist training in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. Having completed her training with distinction, she is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics.

Theodora has gained experience in the functional and cosmetic aspect of restorative dentistry and her interest mainly lies with aesthetic dentistry which includes tooth coloured restorations, smile design, full mouth rehabilitation cases and implants and implant retained prostheses. She holds memberships with the International College of Prosthodontists, the European Prosthodontic Association, the British society of Restorative Dentistry and the British Dental Association. She has undertaken substantial research concentrating on tooth coloured restorations and their longevity, which she has presented nationally and internationally. She is also a clinical teacher at Guy’s Hospital where she trains dental undergraduates in the field of restorative dentistry.

Theodora is committed to practicing the highest level of dentistry based on her experience, qualifications and academic background.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys contemporary dancing and running. She is also a keen traveller.


Miss Katie Szymanska Practice Manager/Treatment Co-ordinator
Katie has been involved with dentistry for six years now. She started as a dental nurse which inspired her to progress into dental practice management. As a manager at Smile Cliniq, Katie deals with day to day running of the practice as well as coordinating patient treatments. She is your first point of contact if you have any questions about your treatment. With her knowledge, enthusiasm and friendly personality she will endeavour to make your visit at Smile Cliniq as pleasant as possible and will make sure everything is up to the highest standards prior to and during your visit.
